522xi???

UhhhhhO. Now that I see it all cleaned up you better drive back and give the seller another $400 at least!!!!!! Enjoy the new toy!!!!

Seriously, more like at least another $1K for the 5xi market.

Be careful when adjusting the motion control and and make sure it is solid on the wheel stands. That is a lot of weight to come down.

You'll love it. And if you don't, I'll drive down and take it off your hands.  :)

Seriousl;y though, I love mowing with mine, the cruise and smart turn work great, slows down when mo0wing around trees, then back to full speed on the straightaways. I just wish there was an adjustment for the smart turn, sometimes it slows too slow.

I'm on my way to go look at a 522xi anthing i should know about it before i look at 605hrs on it 400$ i don't think i can wrong with it but i've never had one of these newer ones

Deck and tires are worth the asking price.  Then the engine, then parts. Looks like a runner for less than parts price!

Thanks for the help guys i know the price was right but i was still on the fence with this one it looked like it was sum what taken care of the trans oil looked good but the motor oil looked a little on the dark side the PO did say it needed changed and gave me a new oil filter and fuel filter for it the trans also had a fram filter on it that thing gots to go but at least it was changed i guess. The PO has only had it a few months and didn't know what he had or how to work on it. He was able to get it in a package deal when buying his house and just used it till the belt for the deck had broke and know he is buying a new mower. I will keep you guys posted on my progress

Yes, the engine needs to come out to remove the shrouds. Basically, remove the side supports, disconnect the driveshaft, throttle linkage, and electrical connections. The engine has four bolts to remove and then lift vertically because of the oil drain that hangs below the engine until it clears. Support it so that you don't break off the drain while working on the engine.

Mark everything so it can go back together. According to the Kohler Command engine manual, the shrouds should be cleaned every 100 hours. Kohler does sell an access panel kit that you can install to gain access for cleaning without removing the engine. It needs to come out though to install the kit.

they do that (make it so you have to pull the engine) so you have to take it to have it cleaned. Dealers always think of a way to make more money.
