Blower Crank extension, How to and where to install?

Recommended Posts

Me again....... I'm confused about how and where to install the extension that came with my cab on my old 42ST01 single stage snow blower.. Directions show a newer style 2 stage in picture but the kit came with extensions for both single and 2 stage blowers. My shaft is 1 piece and...........Well I'm confused.

Here is a picture of my blower.

Here's mine made out of a 3/8" rod and a shaft coupler.

Yeah. I like that. I may just have to make my own by cutting the crank rod and adding the needed length with a coupler like yours and some rod. Then the height of my handle would be to high to go through the cab opening so would have to weld on a sacrificial  universal from my 3/8s socket set and mount the angle bracket inside cab so the handle wouldn't flop around................. The blower's too old for the cab I guess.......

The 5xi cab uses a bracket on the inside of the cab to replace the bracket that went to the mid-mount.
