JackC 617 #1 Posted October 31, 2015 I have way too many but when I saw the engine on this beast I could not resist. It is a 1978 D-200 with only 397 hours on the clock. The engine is physically much larger than the ONANs on my two D-160sIt has the worn motor to pump coupling problem that I believe I can fix since I have a spare pump and coupling. The PO tried to solve the coupling problem with set screws and that did not work.I have a thread going on the issue under the transmission section. The tractor came with a special hydraulically operated dump cart. The original owner built it so that it looks like a heavy duty D Series factory option. All I have to do is add some decals to make it Wheel Horse official.I paid $900 for the tractor, trailer and special hydraulic unit on the back.I bought the plow for it on a previous visit to the owner. It has the 3 point hitch, wheel weights, and chains. It was 2 1/2 hours away which was within reason.I have not heard the engine run but the PO said it sounds like a Harley. Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.

My 160 has the bad boy Kohler 341 instead of the trouble plagued Onan. While I have one of the typical yard trailers, I am coveting that hyd version trailer!! Did the owner shad any light on what he used? obviously a starter motor to drive a pump? Where are the controls? in that upper part of the mount? You done good....

JackC 617 #13 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) I've got one each of the "D" family (the 250 dont count) and I dearly LOVE them! Did the owner shad any light on what he used? obviously a starter motor to drive a pump? Where are the controls? in that upper part of the mount? You done good.... That hydraulics and dump trailer were built by the original owner. I purchased the tractor from the second owner. I am the third owner so I did not get to talk to the original owner. It does look like a starter motor was used. When you press a button the electric motor drives a small pump which activates the cylinder to dump the trailer. Then there is a lever to activate a relief valve that brings the dump bed back to rest. Everything is first class and heavy duty just like the D. I could not have that built for what I paid for the tractor. I could also use the hydraulics to operate some other device attached to the back of the tractor like a hydraulically activated tow truck lift arm.The hose is a quick disconnect type, Here are a few more pics of the setup. You can see the rubber covered button on top and the release lever just above the electric motor. Also check out the neat lights on the back. There are individual switches for each light.
