Shipping for RJ58

Recommended Posts

Vedette

I just purchased a Wheel Horse RJ58 on ebay last night.
It is my first wheel Horse and I need to have it shipped across the country (Pennsylvania to Washington)
But, as I know very little about them yet???? I have no idea as to how much it weighs, how long, how wide, how tall, etc.
Also who should I use to Ship it??
Can anyone help me ASAP.
Thanks Brian
PS there is a front mounted sickle mower and a single bottom plow that comes with it.

You can try Fastenal for shipping, but the seller will have to put on a pallet and take it to them. Google them, read up on thier service, others will chime in with ideas for you.  This kind of stuff has kept me from long distance deals. It will be a eye opener for you, best of luck, wait for others to chime in.

Without attachments, which I would take off the horse and try to lash to pallet under the tractor, approximate length 54"...width 30"...height 33"....weight 300 lbs.
Sickle bar mower...about 70 lbs.  Single bottom plow...about 30 lbs.  All are approximations, but good, close ones.  It is the stuff a place like Fastenal wants to know.  :)
You or the seller can go to their website, fill out the form and they will give you a price.  The seller takes the stuff to his Fastenal dealer...mine has pallets, and they have either tied it down for me, or I have helped them.  The buyer has to go to his Fastenal dealer to pick up the shipment, and pays for shipping at that time.

Fastenal may be not interesting to the sEller (it can be a lot of work for them), but it's usually the cheapest.

The seller has to empty all fluids (gas, oil, Trans oil) and then get everything on a pallet and strapped down good. My fastenal doesn't usually have anything to help with that. But I use them a lot and it's great when you can work with the seller.

Otherwise try uship.Com and get quotes from them. For that kind of distance you will probably be looking at big money unless someone regularly goes that route with a partial load.

Good luck!

I just had a 520-H shipped from northern Indiana to Georgia by Fastenal.  Only the gas had to be drained.  Cost less than $200.
