Irv 115 #5 Posted October 31, 2015 Looks like an old Parker sweeper you have there. I've got one like it only it has a 4 or 5 horse briggs on it and the wire brush (for thatching), I use it for getting the heavy pine needles up. I use the WH bagger on the 314 for leaves. clip 185 #6 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Just pulled the dethatcher around with no weight to rake the pine needles into big piles that the dozer blade could push into the flower beds for mulch, then ground everything else to tiny bits with a homemade mulch plug (cardboard duct taped over the discharge chute). Wheel-N-It 2,976 #7 Posted October 31, 2015 Its leaf collection time here too. Luckily I don't have enough trees in my yard to make pulling the leaf sweeper unenjoyable. There was a time when I had alot of trees in the yard, and the ground was covered with leaves in the Fall, but I finally had enough of that and broke out the chainsaws and backhoe. Getting rid of the trees opened up the yard and made mowing much more fun and got rid of the leaf problem.
Tankman 3,523 #8 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) Used to use a Parker sweeper, mainly for grass clippings.Nowadays I use an 8 hp Little Wonder. My best friend during leaf season. For tight places an Echo backpack blower.Little Wonder is heavy! I'm thinking 'bout a tow bar or low flatbed trailer.
