tractorhogg 612 #1 Posted October 27, 2015 Is it possible to use a 1" X 15 spline U joint as a coupling for the rear PTO of a D series? thanks
JackC 617 #2 Posted October 28, 2015 Not sure what you are asking. Are you looking to plug something into the rear rotating PTO?
tractorhogg 612 #3 Posted October 28, 2015 I'm confused??? Is there another reason to have a coupler other than to connect something to it? Or is it not necessary to have a coupler to connect a tiller? I only have a 15 spline male shaft sticking out the back. Is there another reason to have or not have a coupler if it is not needed? What's really weird is there are two other responses to this post, one mine, one another guy that knew exactly what I wanted. This post showed up in my inbox and is exactly the same as the one that showed up about this time yesterday. JackCs post I am replying to right now said it was posted 18 minutes ago, but when you go to the forum it was posted 22 hours ago. Here I cant see the other replies, on the forum I can. This tractor came with a coupler on the rear PTO shaft, JackC has one on the tractor in the picture he posted. The picture was big enough for me to get a good look at his rear PTO, mine doesn't have the female coupler on the end, as i said, mine just has a male 15 spline shaft sticking out. JackC 617 #4 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) You are missing the female end. I will need to find the parts diagram. Something strange is going on. Maybe there are two threads? There are two threads one under tractors and one under implements and attachments. Can a moderator fix it?
