I would take those numbers with a grain of salt.  The prices are MSRP, and supposedly my 1981 C-105 cost $2400 new, while my 1986 310-8 cost $1999.  These are very similar machines in a lot of ways, I'm a little skeptical about the $400 price decrease in five years.
