still need plowing help

Recommended Posts

So.  Here's what I have.  C160 auto.  And a 12" moldboard plow.  When I plow with my right wheels in the furrow I get about a 4" gap that is untouched by the plow.  I have the plow adjusted all the way to the right but it is still giving me a gap.  I researched the plow manuals here and am not getting much help.  I did notice that in the earlier manuals a 12" plow was not listed for use with a tractor that has a distance of18" between the rear wheels which is what mine is.  Could this be the problem?  Could it be that I am plowing too deep or too shallow?  The adjustment bolts in the clevis hitch are out.  Seems that I read with a plow you shouldn't tighten them.  Really puzzled and a little frustrated.  The plow is not a wheelhorse plow if that matters.  Please help.

This sleeve hitch is centered

And your hitch is like this

You may need to remove the 2 bolts that hold the hitch onto the plow and turn it over so the entire plow is moved over to the right.

Someone else suggested that but it is welded.  I looked up the manual for a brinly plow and there is some adjustment for a plow tracking too wide.  When I get home I will see if mine has that adjustment

You are saying this piece with the 3 holes (that looks bolted to the plow) is welded?

Grind the weld off, remove the bolts, turn the hitch over, replace the bolts and try it again.
