Can someone tell me if the seal on the brake shaft is the same as the axle on a 656 , my axle is 1" and so is the brake drum shaft

They are the same.

Do you need a part number?

The old Wheel Horse part number is 1232. That number was superceded by Toro #100863. You can get them locally from auto parts stores as SKF9815, or CR9815.

Should have a 1-1/8" diameter axles unless the trans has been changed - some do have 1" axles.
