sdhdcouple 133 #1 Posted October 16, 2015 If they did and if someone is good at trouble shooting them, I have a problem child.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #2 Posted October 16, 2015 The 518xi used a CH18 and Toro used many CH20 models which I believe are the same design.Garry

shallowwatersailor 3,214 #6 Posted October 18, 2015 There are a few manufacturers that use this engine. Simplicity, for example, uses it in the Legacy model so you may want to check other forums for hints as well. Which Toro Wheel Horse model do you have? The CH18 and CH20 engines are the same, just an adjustment on the governor for the "2 hp" difference and labels. This engine uses individual coils for the cylinders. Worse case scenario is that mice got in behind the shroud and had lunch. Use the search function on RS to look for similar issues.
sdhdcouple 133 #7 Posted October 18, 2015 well mine CH18 does happen to be on a Argo/Allis 918 tractor. Not trying to down play anyone on Allis/simplicity sites, but of all the forums I follow, the people here seem to be a thorough and helpful bunch. I thought I would ask here to see if Wheel Horse was had the same issues with the motor and get more input. the more info I can gather the better I can try to fix this motor, as I am dumb and blind on this CH motor. sdhdcouple 133 #12 Posted October 19, 2015 Ok as advised I switched the coils and the one is bad. And after seeing the jacks posting I s I had entered the number in wrong. Just been one of those days. But at least we might get problem one fixed and cross the fingers maybe it will fix them all. LOL
