i have a 1054 was motoring along and it quit traveling.took it out of gear put into reverse no movement.put back in gear nothing.dont have a clue of what happened.didnt get any grinding or any bangs.just quit.engine sounded fine. any ideas

Broken belt or broken key in the axle hub, transaxle pulley or engine pulley would be the first places I would look.  I suppose there could be other problems with the transaxle and there are many RS members who have way more experience in that area than me.

Doc724 hit it on the head.I have had WH's go from moving to not while idling.In my case the input shaft spit out the key.Pulley was still on the input shaft but no key.Most of the time it is something simple.Luck,JAinVA

Tom, take a look at the obvious stuff on the out side of the trans...pulleys, key ways, belts and then we get into what you have if those things do not fix what is going on.  :)
