Aussie 98 #1 Posted October 10, 2015 I picked up a very tidy 1983 C125 this week. It is a well travelled tractor having been sold new in the UK and then imported into Australia about seven years ago. It is fitted with a 36" rear discharge deck. The tractor model number is 11-12K801. The ID plate on the deck has lost its clear cover film and consequently the number is gone. Is any-one able to let me know the likely model number? I need an outer pulley which are a smaller diameter than my 42" decks.thank you
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,505 #2 Posted October 10, 2015 Is there a part number on the belt routing decal? That may narrow down the possibilities. The left and right spindles already look different so worked on before? With a mylar cover on the decal I suspect the deck is a later model than the tractor. This chart may help to identifyhttp://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/671-chart-spindle-id-mower-rotary-1969-1989-35-pagespdf/The last design used a standard nut and lockwasher to mount the pulley and the Woodruff key was eliminated. This could also be used on older spindles that used a locking nut and Woodruff key as long as the pulley was free to spin on the shaft without the nut being tight. The direction of rotation kept the nut tight. If it has been changed you will find the slot in the shaft and pulley for a key but no Woodruff key installed.Garry
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,505 #3 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) Here are the deck models. Each line has it's own parts list1983-1984 model 05-36MR021985 model 05-36MR031986-1990 model 05-36MR041991-1992 model 05-36MR051993 model 783051994 model 783051995-1999 model 783052000-2006 model 78305GarryAdding - The 106748 deck decal for belt routing was used on all of them according to the parts lists so that won't help. Aussie 98 #4 Posted October 10, 2015 Thanks for the quick replies and the information Garry. The deck has been bodgie repaired in the past and the left pulley is an aftermarket aluminium one held on by a grubscrew. I haven't had a chance to pull the spindles down yet but the po told me he made a couple of spindle shafts up (the centre one is an allen head bolt).I don't think I will have a problem with the spindles and housings, it is mainly the missing pulley as they are quite small and the part numbers don't give the diameter. I will look through the parts lists you have provided and see if the pulleys are common.I don't know for sure that the decal would have had a clear cover, just assumed. Come to think of it the tractor doesn't have one either.regardsKym
Tuneup 1,416 #5 Posted October 10, 2015 Beautiful find. I took a look at my scrappy 125 and its 42" deck and it spans the same distance out from the wheels - leads me to believe it's a 42" but rulers are proof. It would surprise me if the spindles and pulleys are any different than those on the 42".
slammer302 2,154 #6 Posted October 10, 2015 I agree it looks like a 42RD with the reinforced stamping in the shell 42RMR01
Aussie 98 #7 Posted October 12, 2015 Thank you gentlemen, you are absolutely correct. I don't know why I didn't think to run a tape measure over it, have to stop listening to sellers stories.I don't presently have my other 42" decks handy for comparison, sure looks a lot smaller than the 48" though.thanks again for the assistance
