Tire question

Just wondering what's the widest size tire that can go on my stock c-120 rims. I would like a wider tire. Thanks.

Generally something with a tread as wide as the rim, or just over by 1/2 inch or so.  Much more than that will balloon your tire and effect tire contact and traction.

factory did up to a 23x9.5 on 7" rims, they do ballon some, 23x8.5 is about right, but cheap brands run small, so you can go bigger with them.

Very true.

Sizes vary considerably depending on brand.

Maybe consider a set of wider rims too????

Widest stock WH rim is off a 520 at 8" they will hold a 10.5 tire very well, I built 11.5 wide rims for my 520 with 26x12x12 tires

I used a set of deere # 6256-14 wheels on my C160. They are 10.5" wide,  but the back spacing will not fit a horse with the tank under the seat.
I'd posted this in another tire thread so it was still handy to drag over here.

1. Firestone 23-10.50-12 on 10.5 deere rims, Miller recommends a 10.5 rim for these
2. Carlisle 23-10.50 on 8" 520H wheel, Carlile recommends an 8" wheel. With the deep dish of this wheel it sticks out of the fender farther and looks bigger, fender edge is roughly at the center line.
3. Deestone 23-10.50 on stock 7" C160 wheel, tire is the smallest of the 3.

I prefer the look of the Deestone's myself.  You just answered the question I was going to ask about going narrower on my 416-8.
