rmaynard 16,223 #4 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) @jimemco Here it isOk Guys,I need your help. The other day after removing and cleaning my battery on my C-160,I unknowingly jarred loose the wiring from the harness going to the lights. The result was that the wiring fell into the steering sector gears. Upon startup,I walked back into the garage to close the door when I looked back to the tractor and saw....you guessed it,Smoke and Flames!!! Freaking out I ran back into the garage, grabbed the first tool I could find to "cut wires" with and returned to the burning heap! Dammmmmmmmmmmit! Knowing that this fire was directly below the fuel tank,I worked furiously to "disarm" the source of the fire by cutting the negative lead from the battery. Kind've tough with METAL SNIPS!!!!!! But,I got it and blew and blew til the flames were out! While gathering my composure (and my breath) while sitting there on a stump looking like Steve Martin and John Candy sitting on their luggage while their car burned out in the movie "Planes,Trains and Automobiles",I briefly pondered the future without my trusty ol' C-160,my trusted companion that my kids have teased me for keeping for the last 20 years since rescuing it from the throes of a salvage pile. My current two little girls, aged 4 and 7 years old came running to up me to see all the excitement up close laughing saying "you're funny daddy,do it again ",obvious thinking it was another one of daddys' cool experiments that I'm always doing for them. Not funny this time, kids, not funny. Anyway, this brings me to my faithful advisors on the Red Square Forum. Can anyone direct me to an available wiring harness for my ol' trusty C-160? It is a 1976 model 61-16KS01-06752. It appears from the manual that the harness item number is11-01 and the part no. is 104703. I know I'm gonna need some other things like ign. switch, interlock switches, etc.,but I think I can get that stuff more readily locally. My main concern is finding the harness, preferrably NOS os similar rather than used, rather than to attempt to make it all from scratch and not having the necessary terminal ends and connectors. It is a heap of melted blob right now and I have successfully removed it all with the attempted precision of a brain surgeon so as to be somewhat identifiable whe I attempt to replace it with the new one! Please help !!! Thanks , Jimemco Akron,Ohio @jimemco I may have a NOS harness from a 1977 B-100, but I know that it's different since the C-160 has lights. And from what I recall, the 1976 had some weird interlock wiring. Hopefully someone will be able to help you find something.
