chorusguy 227 #1 Posted September 29, 2015 16 hp Kohler. Starts fine runs fine idles well at low throttle as well as high. Occasionally when idling it will miss every 20-30 seconds. The big thing is that it often backfires when I shut it off. Suggestions?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #2 Posted September 29, 2015 Try some Marvel Mystery oil in the fuel.I had one doing that and after a tank of fuel it was gone. Suspect a valve was a little lazy at closing and the oil has eliminated it. Now it's on a steady diet.Garry
wallfish 18,191 #3 Posted September 29, 2015 One of mine backfires every once in a while if shut down in idle but if it is shut down with full throttle, it doesn't
Don1977 605 #4 Posted September 29, 2015 I had a Magnum 12 doing the same. I found the intake valve almost closed. At least check the valve adjustment.
snowhound 106 #5 Posted October 2, 2015 I had a K341 that was doing that a carb adjustment and de-carboning the head fixed it.
