Walbro Choke Plates

Recommended Posts

Fordiesel69

Do we have a source on a full choke plate for the walbro carbs used on late model Kohler K series, and Magnums.  All my M12's and M14's crank 10-15 sec to get fuel as the choke plate is 50%.  If I hold my fingers over the carb they lite of instantly.

Now they do sit 2-4 weeks so it is expected to start hard, but the carters always lite off instantly as well.

Don't know of any replacement plates. All my Mags have got the bigger holes in them. All are a pain to start. I do have one that someone had brazed/soldered the holes over. Made a drastic improvement. I don't know if this is true or not but I was told the holes are because of emissions standards. Who knows, all I know is they are a pain. They just can't leave well enough alone.

It probably is.......they will roll coal if you don't cut the choke quick.  I may consider having it brazed shut.

Maybe make one out of aluminum????? Easy to cut, drill and shape.
I have some if you want to try, just pm your address and I'll send you some.
Think I'll give it a try when I get some time to spend on it.
