DennisThornton 4,771 #7 Posted September 29, 2015 I've tried several things through the years and sadly can recommend nothing any better than duct tape...I do hope someone will point out several options but the only one I've found to work is a replacement seat! doc724 925 #8 Posted September 29, 2015 I have been using gorilla tape with pretty good success. However, you have to round the ends (like a band-aid) so there are no sharp corners to get caught on your clothing. On one of my machines, the PO used a piece of pleather. It is much thicker than tape and I believe he used contact cement to hold it into place. It has held up really well for close to 5 years now with only slight curling on the corners (which he did not round) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
oliver2-44 10,715 #9 Posted September 29, 2015 Most of the repairs I did were small cuts, cracks or nicks that I took care of before they got worse, and those have held up. I've never tried to repair a long crack or cut with the vinyl mender kits. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
DennisThornton 4,771 #10 Posted September 29, 2015 Cuts/tears have lost their strength and it is unreasonable to expect any glue to replace the strength the fabric provided so any repair has to take that into account. Maybe duct tape underneath and a vinyl patch on top? I don't know, but nothing has ever worked long for me... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
