THE MOTOR HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A KOHLER ENGINE IT IS A 1968 ENGINE AND WILL RUN BUT CAN NOT GET IT AJUSTED CORRECTLY AND THE THROTTEL IS NOT CORRECT. IF I COULD FIND THE ENGINE THAT GOES WITH THE TRACTOR I WOULD BUY IF IT WAS NOT TOO EXP. THE ENGINE THAT IS ON THE TRACTOR IS 1968 61/4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

953 nut 60,014 #10 Posted September 27, 2015 The Kohler Carter carburetors tend to suffer from excessive ware around the throttle shaft making them hard to get a good idle. The 653 came with a Tecumseh H-60 engine, if you post a "Wanted" ad on here you may find one.
