rem722 26 #1 Posted September 22, 2015 Hi guys,I'm a newbie. Does anyone have the modern numbers to the bearings and seals for a 603 transmission. And another question, my front spindles are shot. Do people get 3/4" stock and cut a snapring groove and then bend the precut rod to a 90 for a new spindle?? Again being a new guy to this, I really didn't think I needed to mount 4 bolt spindles to my lil' 603.. thanks in advance, John.
AMC RULES 36,961 #2 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/42506-bearing-and-seal-cross-numbers/ Maybe try a Ebay search for ..."wheel horse spindle" and/or try placing a "wanted" ad right here in the classifieds...I'm sure someone out there will have the parts you need. ol550 830 #3 Posted September 22, 2015 As far as making new spindles, I made some for a 702 a few years back. The hard part once the snap ring groove is cut is making the bendin the right place. Drilling the hole for the steering arm was tricky also. If I were to do it again I would drill the end of the spindle like latermodels and tap it for a bolt to hold the wheel on.
stevasaurus 22,282 #4 Posted September 23, 2015 You want the 2nd PDF in that link. You should have a #5025 transmission.
