NikkiO 3 #1 Posted September 20, 2015 We really lucked out at an auction recently and picked up a beautifully running Wheel Horse, but I can't identify which one it is. It is a smaller model and the ID tags were removed. Looks great though! Here it is. If you know which one it is please let me know!
Sparky-(Admin) 23,153 #2 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm not good with the vertical shaft machines....but it might be one of these. DennisThornton 4,771 #4 Posted September 20, 2015 Wow! And here I thought I had learned something about WHs... Vertical, sheet metal frame, bolt on wheels but small and 3 spd with reverse... And an RD deck. I know next to nothing about the A models so I will hope it's one of those. I'm guessing most of the members here are focusing on the GT models, early B's, certainly Cs, 300, 400, 500 and the Ds. And the newer Bs, the 200 series and smaller models get less attention, though the cute little Rangers might feel hurt ..."A" model I suppose but surely someone who knows will chime in shortly.... C-101plowerpower 1,606 #5 Posted September 20, 2015 i'm thinking an A80R or a A800 ranger
Racinbob 11,929 #6 Posted September 20, 2015 My guess would be mid 76-77 A series. They had the 'regular' rear hubs. When the B series went back to a lawn tractor in 78 the rears attached like the front. It looks like a mid 70's steering wheel too.
DennisThornton 4,771 #7 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm impressed with the bolt on rears! Didn't think they did on the "A". Maybe not all do? 1976 Wheel Horse A-100 Changed my opinion of the "A"s! I like it!
NikkiO 3 #8 Posted September 20, 2015 I will have to check out the A's. Never been exposed to them until this little beast. My youngest son desperately wants this one for himself.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,483 #10 Posted September 21, 2015 We don't have a whole lot on the A-80. Two at the top and three more about 3/4 way down the page.http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=a-80+ranger&type=downloads_file&sortby=relevancy&page=1Garry
