Joebrew1 30 #1 Posted September 15, 2015 So the story goes. Gentleman I bought from wanted 350 for this WH sight unseen. From talking with him I thought it was worth the drive. I pulled up with him dragging this thing out of the barn. Been sitting for the last 15 years. Gave it a shot of gas and a battery fired right up. Got the sickle bar and mower with it. Loaded it up paid for. Then he says he has the trailer his grandpa bought in 65 for it that he wouldn't sell. I didn't know WH made trailers. How bummed was I. I asked for a beer then. After that beer things looked up he said he would sell the trailer. Wohoo. Still not knowing if it was WH trailer or a WH sticker on it was just placed there since it wasn't very straight. 100 bucks he said. Went to grab the wallet realized I only had 17 dollars left after the one and a half hour drive ther. After an hour of b and s i told him I only had 17 bucks. He sold it to me. What a nice guy. So looking for some input on this rig. 1965 855? Not sure what direction the sickle bar goes on. And can I get pointed to the right direction for some sickle bar parts. In the picture you can see some teeth missing. But on top of it he's pulls out some old literature to go with it. How cool. I am trying to upload pics but says they are to big. Bear with me.

Joebrew1 30 #4 Posted September 15, 2015 I have more pictures I can post. But says I don't have enough room. Sorry for the ones I put up but. I have better ones. Still new here. Yes it runs. Needs some tlc. But not much
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #5 Posted September 15, 2015 Hard to tell with it in the trailer, but I think it is a mid mount, the front mounted sickles I have seen are short. That one looks about 5 feet long, I don't think the ones I used as a kid were much longer. I was always convince it would fall and cut off my head when it was lifted, so I avoided that side of the tractor completely if the sickle was on.
Joebrew1 30 #6 Posted September 15, 2015 That's abouth the length. 4 or 5 feet. I will measure to see. I got a box of brackets and pulleys with it.

WNYPCRepair 1,923 #9 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) That's abouth the length. 4 or 5 feet. I will measure to see. I got a box of brackets and pulleys with it. Measure the width of the triangular blades and the length of the guards. I wonder if regular sickle blade teeth and guards will fit? I'm sure that is a mid mount, but I have no idea how it mounts. The front mount pictures I have seen had the mount in the center. Lower the sickle bar and the mount end should be pretty close to where it mounts, with the bar flat on the ground. Dig around in the brackets and see what looks good. Edited September 15, 2015 by WNYPCRepair

Joebrew1 30 #15 Posted September 16, 2015 Busy week ahead of me but will get that sickle bar working and take some photos. Went through the fuel system and this horse is running on its own now. Little smokey it is, only ran for a bit hopefully the rings aren't sticking or the valve guides bad. Will try it out tomorrow maybe just from sitting for 15 years. I will definitely help become a supporter. Is this a WH trailer or is that a trailer with a sticker on it?

Joebrew1 30 #20 Posted September 19, 2015 To be clear I didn't bring the beer. But when I entered the man cave where the toys were kept he made it aware that the fridge was always full. Thanks for the info on everything. Had my first test drive. Runs great smoke went away, steering and front bearings are tight. Very comfortable to drive. Bad news I sold it. It leaves next week. Too soon I think. But I do have a a sickle bar and tub added to my collection. Next week I will get that bar on my other WH and post some pictures. I suppose I will have to look for another great deal. JoeBrew comes from my home beer brewing.
