Ed Kennell 41,974 #1 Posted September 13, 2015 It was 62F here this morning. That was all I needed. Took the deck off the 314 and put on the wheel weights, chains, and snow plow.

Wishin4a416 2,191 #9 Posted September 13, 2015 I put the Blower on the 416 Ed. But I still have 5 tractors with mower decks on so Im good to go. Will probably mow 2 more times then hang it up. Cooling off here at nights now.
953 nut 59,995 #10 Posted September 13, 2015 If it is only a light snow you could blow it off with a side discharge mower.
squonk 43,819 #11 Posted September 13, 2015 I started fitting the cab to Ezra and will pick aeay here and there putting the blower on. And I thought I was jumping the gun a little. SHEESH!!!!
rmaynard 16,297 #12 Posted September 13, 2015 It's got to get colder than 62 for me to start prepping for snow, but I'm putting the plow on the 416-H soon. With my upcoming back surgery, I will not be able to plow my drive, so I am hoping that I can teach my wife how. She hasn't even driven the 416-H much less work the hydro lift and snow plow. It's going to be interesting. On second thought, maybe I should hire someone to do it.

Pullstart 66,747 #15 Posted September 14, 2015 I've got a spare plow truck you can park in the drive, Bob... cushy seat and strong hydraulics - it even has snow chains and heat to boot!
Ed Kennell 41,974 #16 Posted September 14, 2015 The snow blade and chains stay on my 1055 all year and the 953 survivor already has chains on. Bring it on! I keep the cab and blower on the 520 for the deep stuff and was using the Yammy 4wheeler with the winch lift plow for the light stuff and to scrape the stone road, but the yammy is a manual shift and the winch lift is slow, so I thought I would give the 314 hydro a try at plowing. It will be slower on the ground speed, but quicker on the lift and forward / reverse. Guess it's time to buy some propane for the shop I move my shop into the heated basement in the winter. I put the Blower on the 416 Ed. But I still have 5 tractors with mower decks on so Im good to go. Will probably mow 2 more times then hang it up. Cooling off here at nights now. I'm OK for mowing a few times ....I still have 3 with decks. I started fitting the cab to Ezra and will pick aeay here and there putting the blower on. And I thought I was jumping the gun a little. SHEESH!!!! Git-er on cause after you get hooked on the cab comforts, you'll drive for miles to find some snow to blow.

Ed Kennell 41,974 #18 Posted September 14, 2015 Nope, no time for Scouting when I was growing up in the mountains in Western Pa. Jay. We learned to be prepared though to survive the harsh winters in Somerset Co.I did spend about 8 years as a leader/treasurer for the Troop my two Sons joined here in York Co.One made Life and one made Eagle.
squonk 43,819 #19 Posted September 14, 2015 I still need to make mods to the controls and cab braces so the blower will be going on sooner rather than later

PaulC 342 #23 Posted September 14, 2015 Looks good Ed! Nonstop rain this weekend in Buffalo ruined my usual weekend golf plans so I also started messing with a plow I picked up this spring. I wanted to get one for the days the wind is blowing fierce and/or we get a smaller snowfall. I had to snowblow last year on a lot of windy days and the way my yard is in some spots I can only go 1 direction so I ate more snow then anyone would like. I know a cab would help maybe one day.My plow needs some work though before its get mounted to my 312 with Matts foot pedal kit. I picked it up in a package deal and not sure what was done to it but almost every part of the thing was bent, the plow itself was even bent up pretty bad. Luckily I was able to straighten it on the H frame press at work and everything else straightened out pretty easily with just hand tools. I still have some parts to make and going give it a paintjob before it makes it on but that shouldn't take to long and ill post some pictures after its all mounted up.I got all the angle linkage working again and once again surprised by the simple effectiveness of yet another wheel horse attachment. Im looking forward to messing around with it and pushing stuff around. I also saw something a few weeks ago that looked like a cool idea I might try here's the link http://www.mytractorforum.com/119-home-made-tractors-implements-accessories/45646-my-e-bucket-economy-bucket.html now its no FEL or even a Johnny Bucket but its looks pretty cool and certainly would be much cheaper!!
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #24 Posted September 14, 2015 "2015- The Lost Summer" Where did Summer go? I had just taken the cab and snowthrower off the 523Dxi when I broke my ankle. Now it will be time to put them back on!!! Last week I went to use the C-105 to move my trailer (the bane of this Summer!) and found the mice had chewed away at the fuel line. Grrrrr!Luckily my one neighbor has a lawn service so he mowed my grass this season (and will probably continue the rest of the season) for a very reasonable rate. For the first time since the accident, today I was able to get out and knock down some weeds that have encroached the fringe of the property. Luckily the weeds die off with the cold. Another month and it will be Leaf Patrol. Time to warm-up the 518xi and the CR.
