illinilefttackle 399 #1 Posted November 21, 2008 :hide: WOW! Thats all I can say! Last year when I plowed snow, it did a good job, but spent a lot of the time calling on the governor for more power. THIS YEAR AFTER REBUILD-this thing is STOUT. I thought it had more power, but who can really tell when you are just mowing, I run it at 3/4 throttle for the Hydro-and it never even winced when I pushed the Blade full of snow. Also, I was right -the HYDRO even works better!. It's very crisp, quick to react, and hardly whines. GUYS-if you have been thinking of a rebuild for your KOHLER-DO IT! I had a smile on my face from ear to ear the whole time I was plowing. My nemisis, the JD guy across the street, had his curtains wider open than usual- He just had to spy on the BIG horse working! Update-the point-saver thingy I installed is working flawlessly-quick starts, and smooth running. MAN I like this tractor!-AL :horseplay:
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,532 #2 Posted November 21, 2008 Al, I had a c125 that i traded for a c175 twin hydro and i can't wait for the snow. i hear you when you talk about the jd neighbor... i have two and they could not understand how my c125 pushed the snow like it did last year. enjoy and stay safe plowing... :hide:

MaineDad 87 #4 Posted November 22, 2008 Al, That's great news. Glad it worked out. I am looking forward to using the snow thrower with the hydro C-160 instead of the 8 speed 314-8. Should go faster. Those old Kohlers are nice!
Teddy da Bear 11 #5 Posted November 22, 2008 Well Al, Your going to have another chance soon to ride your beast. They originally said heavy snow sunday and monday. Now they moved that back to Monday and Tuesday. Light snow starting sunday.... I don't have a nemisis like you.....or at least I don't think I don't. I have been friends with the guy across the street for almost 40 years. About a month and a half ago he abruptly stopped talking with me. He is a JD guy too. Saw him and a ftiend of his looking at me plowing too. He asked his other friend to come down and plow him out with a JD with a front end loader....weird.... His 12 year old JD must have died.... But I am not going to let him get to me....I loved the plowing snow before Turkey Day!

It's not the tractors, it's their owners! Some JD's are good tractors (I didn't really say that, did I?) But the guys that own them can really get an attitude sometimes. I'm like you- I bleed WH red !.-AL :D
