cheesegrader 433 #1 Posted September 9, 2015 I spent Labor Day stuffing my trailer, and hauling booty north from Green Bay to the 520 ranch. The latest is a '95 with 390 hours and a ton of extras, including a nice 2-stage thrower with all of the original parts, a new 42"deck, a near new tiller. weights and chainsAND a single bottom plow and spring tine. Everything is there, all the springs, bumpers, cowlings, levers and manuals. My trailer looked like it was pregnant with Wheel Horses! It was such a haul, that all the other 520's had to come out and look! More pics to come when I can figure out how to get around the file size problems.

bmsgaffer 2,053 #10 Posted September 9, 2015 Trying to put up a 2.2MB file, and being blocked due to a 2.88MB limit?I give up. Will try again tomorrow. I think there is some kind of cumulative total. Non supporters have to either delete old photos to make it work or upload off site to photobucket. But I support for two reasons, to help with the expenses of this great ad-free forum and to keep my pictures archived here. All off site pictures will eventually end up moving and breaking links and ruining valuable old threads, when I can archive them here and I know they will always be there through any changes or upgrades. But if you feel less than persuaded, photobucket is still a somewhat-decent free alternative.

But if you feel less than persuaded, photobucket is still a somewhat-decent free alternative. I was a mod on a forum that had no storage to speak of, and everyone used a free service for uploading pictures. Eventually, the free service closed, and every link was dead, pretty much ruined the forum. At $20/yr, or $35 for 2 years, supporting the forum is cheap and easy
Brian01 481 #12 Posted September 9, 2015 Before I came a supporter, I tried the photo bucket links, but its just a pain in the Rear! Go to one site...copy link...open new site, paste, etc! Spend the pocket change and support, open and upload away!

cheesegrader 433 #15 Posted September 10, 2015 Yes, this is 520 number four!'96 Loader'95 from Green Bay that will be my back-up tractor while I get it cleaned up and put together correctly.Hydro and throttle linkages are sticking, and the trans drain plug is stripped (grrr, I hate getting those out!)Needs front tubes, and has some rusted screws on trans tunnel that are giving me fits. They will all be stainless button heads when done.'94 from Madison will get the cab, and be the snowthrower next month (yes, snow in October in the UP. Not September...I hope).Currently on mower duty'91 wil be on pow duty at the house in Wausau, unless I switch to the power broom.Currently tending the gravel road with mid-mount blade, box blade and roller.Sure would be nice to have a few more tractors, so I wouldn't have to switch attachments. You guys are KILLING me with the supporter stuff! I'm just so ...CHEAP!
Tankman 3,523 #16 Posted September 10, 2015 Very nice! Makes my one 'n only 520-8 feel naked 'n lonely. Poor thing only has a deck, snow plow, wagon. Lots of grandsons to drive him around too!
bmsgaffer 2,053 #17 Posted September 10, 2015 You guys are KILLING me with the supporter stuff! I'm just so ...CHEAP! I'm right there with you, but I have run some small websites before. Most people don't have any idea what the expense is to keep a place like this (as popular as it is) running. The more popular, the more overhead it takes to keep it running smoothly (more server power, more bandwidth). Thus most have loads of annoying ads to help keep the lights on. Luckily we have an admin with his head screwed on straight and is NOT commercializing this forum or selling it to one of the big forum conglomerates, that alone is worth every penny.I figure, as much help as I have received here I have saved FAR more than $20 in a year, heck I pay WAY more than that to fill up my gas cans which I have to do monthly! Then on top of that you can get a discount going two years at a time... Bingo! But hey, I'm not going to push you into it , everyone has their reasons! Just wanted to show you the value of it, and that you arent just pitching your money into the black hole of cyberspace. It stays right here to help keep this place privately owned and running.
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #18 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Yep, I have learned an easy $20 worth in the 3 or 4 months I've been here. And I am a cheap b****rd too. Edited September 10, 2015 by WNYPCRepair

PaulC 342 #21 Posted September 11, 2015 I was just going to jump on the supporter thing but I see you have already became one . With those 4 bada$$ 520's and all those attachments we all know you can afford it I want to say some of the site vendors offer discounts to supporters too but maybe its all site members that im thinking of.Anyway really awesome herd you have there and glad we were able to see it via your uploaded photos.
cheesegrader 433 #22 Posted September 11, 2015 OK, I brushed the moths off my credit card, and spent $35.Much easier to put up pictures now.I'm curious if anyone else has had problems with the trans plug. This is the second time I have flailed to get one out.I need to get a replacement plug, because this one will be destroyed when I finally get it out.I will take off all the tins this weekend to clean it up, and might even try a magic new product that I heard of recently...Wax!Throttle cable was installed improperly, RPM's 2500-4000. Will also have to reset the max RPM to 3600.Runs great despite the funky throttle, but seems to burn gas twice as fast as the other 520's (hard to imagine burning gas even FASTER than normal!)I see some carb adjusting in my future, but thankfully no cleaning.
bmsgaffer 2,053 #23 Posted September 11, 2015 That's a NICE looking heard of workers you got there.I haven't had trans plug issues, but I could see how it would be easy to be a problem.
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #24 Posted September 11, 2015 A 1/4" -18 NPT plug will do in a pinch. It would hang below the trans case though.
papaglide 542 #25 Posted September 11, 2015 Nice tractor you got there. One thing that I would like to add, and this goes for most garden tractor brands: it is really awesome the number of attachments that were available to enable someone to do many, many, different jobs with these tractors. Freaking cool! Great buy cheesegrader!
