jake22si 5 #1 Posted November 20, 2008 I was pulling the rear hub off my C-100 because the outer groove is worn and POP. Cracked a 2" section right off. I have a 81 C-125 that I had pulled the hub off to use but decided that I would just put the broken one back on because the woodruff key was way longer on the 125 and the hub was good. My 100 axle slot is slightly worn so I didn't want to use a good hub. My question is when did they change the groove for the woodruff? Also the transmission is the same # but with a 12hp, could I swap them out? Or just find a hub to use untill I fix the axle. It's all back together with the broken hub now but will be using it with snowblower and plow and chains. Hopefully it hold up. Hubs are hard to come by as I bid on them then they go for big $$. JimD 3,347 #2 Posted November 20, 2008 hi jake. i think i would go with finding one to use untill you fix the axle. the broken one could have more stress cracks that are hard to see, and will probably continue to break down and come apart. you're going to be putting a lot of stess load on it with the blower and chains, snow weight, etc. good luck with it though. hope you get it fixed. jim.
