605/655 mower deck drive

Recommended Posts

Now that I got my wheel horse up and running I have to figure out how the mower deck was driven (and find a mower deck and some other implements). From what little I have seen in videos and pictures there is a spring and a pulley that attach to the pedal that engage and disengage the belt. I am trying to make it functional but whoever had my Wheel Horse last stripped the poor thing and didn't put much back. Any help is greatly appriciated!!

There isn't much there just the pedal.

Pullstart

here are some pictures of my 502 with the deck on.  hopefully they help!  please disregard the torn belt and lack of alignment on the top pulley, I've been working on tightening up the engagement arm and will adjust pulleys when I get another belt.

Now that I look at that pic Rob, it appears the pulley or linkage would hit that oil drain on that replacement engine. Probably why it was removed.

I second that.  Is there a way you could plug that tap and look for another on the front or back?

I think i can remove that elbow and just put the plug in there then just remove the pulley when I have to change the oil. Thanks for the pics I am missing more than I once thought...
