another silly question

C160.  So sometimes I use the tractor without the mowing deck attached.  When I remove the deck the solid deck lift just dangles down.  I have bungied it up and out if the way but on more than one occasion it has fallen down.  When this happens the tractor comes to an abrubt halt and it is stuck in place.  I have to go get the jack and jack it up to free it.  So what do you guys do?  This is the part that is attached to the rocker not the piece with the trunion and hairpin.

Thanks

OK.  Confession of an idiot.  I didn't reconnect to the down rod with the trunion.

Ouch! I don't use bungies for much other than holding tire chains in place. When I leave my lift links for plows on I tie it up with a zip tie or some scrap wire.

I had it happen to me. I was snowblowing with Marvin 2 yrs. ago. The lift rod was connected to the chain with a bolt and nut. The nut backed out and the bolt fell out. There I was stuck in about 10" of snow with  the back wheels off the ground! :)

I try to use nylon insert nuts or at least double nut bolts so this doesn't happen.

Now that's funny. No worries though. We're laughing with you. I know I've done many things over the years that just leaves me shaking my head at myself.

Just yesterday I tried to install Windows 7 on a new PC I built, couldn't figure out why it wouldn't load. Finally pulled the disc out to find it wasn't the install CD. I have also tried and found that I forgot to install the hard drive.  :)

This CD should never be used to install windows! :)
