42" rear discharge mower problem

I mounted a 42" rear discharge deck that I got with a C145 (never had it on the 145) on a 1988 416-8 and there is only about 3/4 of an inch between the deck and the rear tires.  If the deck rids up at all it hits the tires.  Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix?

This is often a problem because it is hard to see.

Tried the deck on a C105 and a 418-8 with the same results, deck about 3/4 inch from right rear tire and about 2 1/2 inches from left rear tire with height adjuster in middle setting.  So It appears to be an issue with the deck, going to stare doing some measuring to see if I can find a reason.
