cdsl810 181 #1 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) The mounts for the motor cradle in my C-125 are worn badly and need replaced before this thing starts an earthquake. They are still available from Toro... but... I really don't want to pay over $100 to replace the 4 isolation mounts. Is there an alternative? I know there are a lot of K series and earlier owners that have had this issue.Forgive me if this has been answered before. I did see a couple of other related posts, but none had a definitive alternate to the Toro parts. Edited August 12, 2015 by cdsl810

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #4 Posted August 12, 2015 Can anyone describe these mounts with dimensions? I have never seen one.Garry
tunahead72 2,551 #5 Posted August 12, 2015 I do remember some older threads that addressed this problem. I think you're right, there was no clear "winner", but there were some things people tried with varying degrees of success. I'll take a look around.
Lagersolut 743 #6 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) When I restored the C-101, put a big order ( on other needed hardware ) in at Jacks small engines and just ate the cost, no aftermarket alternatives that I could find ......I knew it needed them for quite a few years before the restore and avoided it because of the price .They are a big pill to swallow . Can anyone describe these mounts with dimensions? I have never seen one.Garry Gary here's a picture - they go between the shaker plate and frame Edited August 12, 2015 by Lagersolut
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #7 Posted August 13, 2015 This might be worth a try.Get the rubber out of there and replace it with urethane caulking. I get it at Home Depot and comes in white, grey and black for about $6 a cartridge. Dap is the make we get. The humidity in the air is what cures it. Once cured nothing seems to bother it.Garry

tunahead72 2,551 #9 Posted August 13, 2015 This is one of the threads I was thinking about:http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/36060-c-165-engine-vibration-iso-rubber-engine-mounts/
cdsl810 181 #10 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Has anyone ever tried just getting rid of the dampers and bolting the shaker plate directly to the mounts? The Magnums are bolted directly to the frame, the big 20hp Onan in the 520-H is bolted directly to the frame. Do the K series engines really shake that much?Errrr... Never mind, someone in the thread tunahead72 provided used 1/2" steel. So, the answer is yes, someone has tried it. Interesting... cdsl810 181 #12 Posted August 13, 2015 I've seen those mounts on something else. Now if I could just remember what I had something similar for my boat engine. I wonder if I could find the proper size to fit a WH application.

cdsl810 181 #15 Posted August 13, 2015 I found a company who will make them to my specs. It wouldn't be any cheaper. I'll try the caulking repair idea first before I start throwing money at the Toro man again. The solid mount idea from another thread is good, but for now I'm trying to keep things stock. I'll report back when I get a chance to use the goo that Garry suggests.

Especially when you shut the motor down. I had a 14hp with those mounts and quickly made a solid connection.
