ishmael1980 1 #1 Posted August 11, 2015 Hello all,I'm looking at purchasing a 310-8 from Craigslist and the owner claims that it does not have an hour meter. Did some of these tractors come without the meter? Thanks in advance.
doc724 925 #2 Posted August 11, 2015 Yes, not all tractors had hour meters. Depends on the year and model
danjmah 74 #3 Posted August 11, 2015 I purchased my 87' 310-8 new and the stock version did not come with an hour meter. I later bought the hour meter kit and installed it.
ishmael1980 1 #4 Posted August 11, 2015 Thanks for your help guys. Its a 1989 310-8 with a 37" deck and he's asking $1150. Is it a good deal?
bmsgaffer 2,053 #5 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) That looks REALLY clean for its age, its probably worth it. If not just a little high. Original owner? Just make sure there's no smoke and transmission shift smoothly in all gears high and low. Check that the engine oil is relatively clean and the tranny oil is clean.Just a side note: the front wheels look like 8" they will rub the deck at full left? turn. Usually the 300 series had 6" front wheels and smaller tires.(I would prefer the 8" wheels, so not even close to deal breaker. Might even be a deal maker.) Racinbob 11,928 #6 Posted August 11, 2015 I'm thinking the same as Brandon. That is, if the mechanicals check out and it's as clean in person as it is in the picture.
