I am having the same trouble with parts but there is some other options this renult 8001 motor was used in many applications you might get a different distributor that fits that motor or do a search by the model of the distributor. also you want to get the correct information off of the tractor I believe the D250 was only made in '76, '77, and '78 I have found points for mine but it is not easy mostly ebay over seas the Gutbord is essentially the same tractor but I am not sure of the engine and trans

Is the D-250 basically a foreign made and rebranded WH?  Did WH have a major say in it's design?

Continental Engines in South Carolina has all that you need. I've ordered new engine parts for my D250 from them. They will ask for your engine model number. Most of the Renault parts only need a week to make it your doorstep. Everything for these engines is available new, including the clutch. But, the parts are often not a bargain. eBay had been my main source for extra parts. A search for "wheel horse d250" should bring up a bit more than 200 parts currently for sale.

Also, an eBay search for "solex 26 dis" will bring up a few hits for the harder to find carburetor rebuild kits. They are all shipping from Europe.
