C-120 Rectifier-Regulator

Looking for a part number and reliable source for a Rectifier-Regulator for my 1976 C-120 Have one off a 1974 C-100 plug matches but it looks different. Just got the C-120 and trying to get it running (charging problems) got 25+ volts AC from stator. Thought the older would work but it don't. (maybe due to company changing hands during that time period)

They should all be the same internally even though they look different. Toro part number is 101450, but a good after-market regulator will work just as well, and a lot cheaper. Try Google searching R10297 . Should cost around $44.00.

With your engine running at 3600 RPM, you should be getting about 40 VAC from the stator. Be sure the regulator is well grounded before taking any DC voltage measurements.

Thank You. Info on Rectifier-Regulator eased my mind. I did run into a ground issue at the rectifier. I was getting a ground  (per volt meter) but I don't think it was a good (strong) one. Also had battery issue. would hold 12 to 13 V but had trouble starting, Borrowed a good load tester & it failed.  My original tractor grounded to frame under fuel tank. New one grounded to engine mount bolt. I added a second ground cable (to dash frame) and a new battery and charging system is functioning proper now. I'll try and learn how to navigate this sight better and maybe ad a pic of my "resurrected" C-120 to my profile.
