terc 2 #1 Posted July 2, 2015 Recently acquired a charger 10 with a Model # of 1-7931, Serial # 453800. I’m trying to determine if I have a Charger 9 or 10.After doing some searching that model # is listed as a charger 9, however it has the Charger 10 decals and the Tecumseh HH100 engine. I’m also looking for info on how to check the solid state coil as the tractor will turn over with no spark at the plug (could it be the ignition switch)Also this tractor does not have any starter solenoid ( what are the pro & cons of using a starter solenoid )and the wiring diagrams that I’ve found have a starter solenoid listed. Just curious as to why this tractor is wired in this manner.
groundhog47 347 #2 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) The "Honor Roll" shows that model as a Charger 9 with 10hp Tecumseh, auto/hydro sunstrand drive, manuals should have a Tecumseh manual,if remember correctly! Here's one that may have info;http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/17-engine-tecumseh-8hp-18hp-cast-iron-sm-691462apdf/Troubleshoot manual: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/4044-engine-tecumseh-basic-troubleshooting-and-service-info-696533pdf/Charging and ignition: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/4191-engine-tecumseh-charging-ignition-smpdf/ to Edited July 2, 2015 by groundhog47
