snowhound 106 #1 Posted June 27, 2015 Does anyone know if a cab for a 522xi can be used on a 418-8 without major modifications.Ed
Wishin4a416 2,191 #2 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) I just picked one up at the show N.O.S. and am going to put it on a 310 plow tractor. It can be done I am told and shown. The only thing I have to over come is I have manual lift instead of Hydraulic so I will need a cut in it. A fellow member put one on a 520.http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/29508-cab-conversion/ Edited July 11, 2015 by Wishin4a416
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #3 Posted June 27, 2015 Yikes, another semi-rare 5xi cab being modified. OTC still makes the Classic cab but not the 5xi.
snowhound 106 #4 Posted June 27, 2015 The 418-8 has an electric lift so I won't have to make a cut
RMCIII 838 #5 Posted July 4, 2015 Those XI cab are rare/ when I had mine listed for sale, I had several individuals contact me from PA just wanting the cab. Best offer I got was $650 and he would pay the shipping. I still said no. RC
snowhound 106 #6 Posted July 5, 2015 I picked up the cab and although it isn't in condition I expected it was still a good deal for $75.00. The rear window is shot and the front supports need to be repaired or replaced but the rest is in good condition. The only modification that I will need to do or at least the only one I can see before trying to put it on the 418-8 is to make a hole for the crank to turn the blower chute.
