muz123 1,191 #1 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Will this fit my 520? Its on eBay for $450. Thanks, Dave Edited June 17, 2015 by muz123
Butch 194 #2 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) No. You need one that mounts to your rear axle with a rear axle mount kit. The axle mount runsaround $50 used on Ebay and about $300 or so for the plow. It's a great attachment. The plow youneed will also have a lever on the right side to tilt the blade from the drivers seat. Butch 194 #3 Posted June 17, 2015 You want something like this.Look for that manual in the manual section. It's on page 6 under plows. Blade Grader Pushed 50in 1993-1994 79351 OM IPL.pdf
AMC RULES 36,961 #4 Posted June 17, 2015 Then, you'll need the correct lift link for your tractor.
Racinbob 10,409 #5 Posted June 17, 2015 That will work muz123 but it's not the one they listed for a 520. I used that same model for years on a couple of C-series (same attachment mounting). That simply hooks to the mid mount and connects to the lift. I used a rod direct to the lift bar rock shaft and not the lift bar. That way I could 'power' down. I also welded a bar on the front of it so it would connect to the rear slot hitch. It's simplistic compared to the model Butch is referring to but it works well.
Racinbob 10,409 #6 Posted June 17, 2015 By the way Dave, personally I think that Ebay price is way out of line.
dcrage 621 #7 Posted June 17, 2015 For what it is worth, I bought that unit a couple of years ago for $125 off CL here in MO.
Racinbob 10,409 #8 Posted June 17, 2015 That's much more like it.
Forest Road 594 #9 Posted June 17, 2015 That's the old style. It'll work. Personally I prefer the newer style which mounts to the rear axle. By mounting to the axle it takes all stress off chassis. By far my favorite attachment. Cleans up our 1/4 mile driveway a few times a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tankman 3,515 #10 Posted June 17, 2015 I like the mid-mount grader. Does a great job on my 100 yard gravel driveway.
857 horse 2,581 #11 Posted June 17, 2015 will the newer grader blade fit the older WH tractors??
Racinbob 10,409 #12 Posted June 17, 2015 Yes. But watch the wheelbase. I'm not sure about the clearance on a short wheelbase tractor. The old style doesn't care about the wheelbase.
857 horse 2,581 #13 Posted June 17, 2015 thanks bob............an 857 short frame....i wouldnt mind a rear mount blade
wheeledhorseman 573 #14 Posted June 17, 2015 Will this fit my 520? Its on eBay for $450. Thanks, Dave $450 Yer 'avin a giraffe, mate!(Cockney rhyming slang, giraffe = laugh, so a way of conveying to the vendor that his price is unreasonable)Mid-mount graders are very rare and hard to come by here in the UK but even so I got mine for half that price!Andy
Racinbob 10,409 #15 Posted June 17, 2015 You might find that the newer blades will work fine on a short tractora rear . I'm just not sure. I liked having my oldy adapted to work as as a rear blade but I couldn't 'power' it down like I could as a mid-mount.
muz123 1,191 #16 Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks for all the info guys! I will try and find a newer grader blade.
