Mike'sHorseBarn 2,702 #1 Posted June 14, 2015 Need a little insight here guys. My 401 was working great yesterday, but went to start it today and the recoil quit on the second pull. It still has tension and when I took it off none of the springs were broken. It looks like when I pull it nothing is coming out to engage the flywheel. Any help would be nice because if it's possible I would like to take this to the big wheel horse show in 2 weeks. Thanks!FYI I am not a recoil starter expert lol! Brian01 481 #2 Posted June 21, 2015 All recoils have "dogs" that come out as you pull and hooks in the flywheel to crank it. Take your cover off and look for a slot in the meal somewhere that's where the dogs supposed to come out...it may be hung inside or broke off. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
