JP 141 79 #1 Posted June 7, 2015 I have a 78 C141, regardless of adjustments made the deck does not lift and lock by lift arm...Somebody has put a clevis clip on the chain that lifts the deck ( I have never seen this chain lift application) Im wondering if there is a missing bracket ? I have a 42" RD deck, Mule drive etc...should be easy to install deck. Leveling cut is very difficult...Suggestions ?
Don1977 605 #2 Posted June 7, 2015 It could be that the chain is to short to allow the lift to latch.
doc724 925 #3 Posted June 7, 2015 I agree with Don, but another thing to look at is if the trunion is in the correct hole in the rock shaft. If it is not, the lifting bar will hit the steering mechanism before the lift lever gets to the lock position. Also, check where the transport stops are positioned on the deck and make sure the little fork on the mower hitch goes around the proper bar in the mid tach-a-matic. If you do not have a mower manual, download one from the "manuals" section here on RS
Racinbob 11,976 #4 Posted June 7, 2015 Just to clarify, are you saying the chain is connected directly to the mower deck rather than the lift bar?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,510 #5 Posted June 7, 2015 Newer manuals but attachment should be the sameOperator manualhttp://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/870-mower-rotary-42in-rd-1980-1983-05-42mr01-om-810306r1pdf/Parts manualhttp://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1529-mower-rotary-42in-rd-1980-1983-05-42mr01-ipl-810172r1pdf/Earlier models used a rod for the lift but in 1978 it was replaced by a chain and it was recommended the earlier models use a chain also.http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/667-wh61-90-222-new-chain-for-mower-lift-rodpdf/Garry
