DougL3 63 #1 Posted June 2, 2015 Found a 6-4111 42" snow blade for cheap, Will it fit my 416-8?
Racinbob 11,976 #2 Posted June 2, 2015 I believe you have a frame that will work on long or short wheelbase tractors. If you have two holes on each side of the frame at the back it will work. You will need to use the shorter lift link. Depending on the tractor you may have some interference with the angle adjust lever. That's an easy fix.
DougL3 63 #3 Posted June 2, 2015 Can you elaborate on the 2 holes? I know I'll need to pick up a rear axle hitch too.
Racinbob 11,976 #4 Posted June 2, 2015 They are the holes where the bar that attaches to the rear hitch go. One is about 1" from the rear of the frame, the other about 7". Of course one set of holes will (should) have a bar in it now. Can you post a picture?
DougL3 63 #5 Posted June 2, 2015 I haven't bought it yet since I wasn't sure if it would fit.
Racinbob 11,976 #7 Posted June 3, 2015 I pretty certain that will work looking at the frame from this angle. The rear hitch attachment rod is in the rear hole. There's a large bolt just behind the blade that's the pivot point for the blade. Measure from that to the cross bar in the back and it will be about 64". You'll see the other holes about 6" in the front of that bar. That hole is where the rod goes on short frame tractors. That's got the straight angle adjust lever. It might interfere with the footrest. Some have a small offset just above where that bar pivots, some just an angle bend. In any case, it's an easy fix. I'd say that blade looks to be in really good shape.
DougL3 63 #8 Posted June 3, 2015 For $100, I think I'll pick it up. I don't even have the 416-8 running yet and I've already picked up 4 implements! I gotta get to work on the old horse...
Racinbob 11,976 #9 Posted June 3, 2015 I would say that's a very good price. Unfortunately you'll still need the rear bracket but they are out there. Sometimes even reasonably priced. You might want to place a wanted ad in the classified here. There's a lot more snow blades out there than there are available brackets. Folks sell the blades without thinking about the bracket and leave it on the tractor. I'm sure there will be quite a few at the big show. I'm going and it's less than half the distance for you
