Yes. Gets lots of rags. The cross shaft bearings are common I Forget the numbers at the moment.I have some decent used bearings and gears that I plan on bringing to the show to sell. The most common thing I have found on the ones I have done is the cross bearings go bad and the cross shaft loosens in the brgs. It's supposed to be a press fit. The shaft itself gets worn down where the brg. rides and the shaft will chuck back and forth banging the gears

I would like to see someone post a "how to" on the gear-drive decks. I have two that need fixing!

I remember changing the belts when I was like 12. What a job for a kid!  The last deck I did I had a cross shaft custom made. They were still available a few years ago but $$$$$. I will look up the bearing numbers, I got them from Napa. I have a few sets of gears, a few decent bearings and I think a few bearing stands. Another common thing I have seen are the threads pulling out of the aluminum stands. I think a few people have tried to tighten the stand bolts with the belt tight putting a load on the threads and the spindle brgs go bad and the spindles cause the gears to bang some too Also the spindle housing cast iron cracks. I hope to set up across from John in the infield.
