badhorse800 0 #1 Posted May 15, 2015 Will a 42" deck that came off of a 312-8 fit on a 73 12 automatic?
daveoman1966 3,841 #2 Posted May 15, 2015 If your 73 Auto has the 'Tach-o-Matic' Mule Drive system (drive belt runs out around the front axle) then, YES...it should fit. The lift linkage MAY be a little different as to nuts and bolts. There MAY be a different drive belt....not sure...rear and side drive belts are different. Racinbob 11,975 #3 Posted May 15, 2015 Per the 73 brochure you do have the front mule drive so you'll be in great shape. But, as Dave mentioned, the lift linkage may be a little different as well as the belt. Both easy to remedy.
badhorse800 0 #4 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) well here it is, the deck fit real nice my only problem is the mid connection quick release is missing a part, so I will be remedying this hopefully this week-Spenser Edited May 18, 2015 by badhorse800

daveoman1966 3,841 #6 Posted May 18, 2015 I have (had ) that exact same tractor 1973 No-Name 12 hp Auto. Mine had hydraulic lift on it....really slick. I can set you up with that if you want.... Pretty easy to install and I have all the parts you'd need, except for 1 hose (I have it but it leaks a bit). Send me an OFF-SITE email if you want to pursue the hyd lift upgrade....my email is: (just clik this link)daveoman@windstream.net

badhorse800 0 #8 Posted May 18, 2015 I am missing the spring loaded release but right now I am only going to be having the mower deck attached to it so I am going to run a bolt through one of the holes in the non moving part to keep the swinging part locked on, that way I can put off spending a little more money on this project.Spenser
