HH100 bad stator

My father gave me a HH100 that came off a Massey 10 garden tractor which he had sitting out in the woods for the past 5 years.  When he got it 5 years ago the guy had just rebuilt the engine but never did anything with the tractor.  He was going to use it for tractor pulling.  The engine would no longer roll over after sitting out in the woods.  After pulling the head I found the engine was still nicely lubed up with no rust.  I figured it must be from all the debris around the flywheel keeping the engine from rolling over.  I ended up being correct.  The only problem now is that the stator is in real bad shape.

I found 1 used one on ebay but that is it.  Is there anywhere else I can get one or should I be putting some other kind of ignition system on this engine?
