Onan oil filter part number 122-0800. Does anyone if there is a possibility to convert to a cheaper regular auto oil filter? thanks, Bill.

Very likely... I had a water pump with a Deutz diesel motor and the filter was german made with a cost of around $20! After buying the first one and nearly fainting, on the next change I let the existing filter drain good and cleaned it off and toted it into wallyworld and started opening filter boxes. After only checking 3-4 I found a match -- and it was a common ford filter that only fit about a gazillion vehicles and was about $3. Check the diameter of the gasket and the thread size and of course the physical size and I bet you can find a match.

Course one of these horse gurus here on the forum has probably already done that and can give you the info.....

Pacer, thank you. The friendly clerk down at NAPA set me up with a fine replacement. God bless, Bill.

The interchange number for NAPA is FIL 1762 ($11.99), and Wix is 51762

I would use the NAPA 1642 in the Onans. Unless you don't mind driving a screwdriver through what little of the oil filter is sticking out of the housing. (Like I did earlier this Spring). I had the short NAPA filter in my 416-8 Speed and didn't want to just let it sit on the shelf. I should have left it sit on the shelf although nothing on the frame and surrounding area is going to rust anytime soon!
