OhioGuy89 4 #1 Posted April 26, 2015 Hi folks, So after getting struck filter last year, and noticing it had stripped threads, I put a replacement filter housing on my On an On my 520h . I have bought a new gasket, and have tightened the housing down as much as I can, but every time I start the mower, oil gushes out everywhere. I'm not sure what to do. boomers_influence 106 #2 Posted April 26, 2015 matt on the oil filter adapter, there is a 1/8" pipe port for a pressure switch or a pipe plug. many people overtighten it and crack the hsg. also the hsgs can get warped. thank you boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy, also NOS and new )
OhioGuy89 4 #3 Posted April 26, 2015 Hmm. I'll have to look at that. What's an hsg?
rmaynard 14,925 #4 Posted April 26, 2015 Also, take a look at the oil pressure switch. They can leak too.

OhioGuy89 4 #6 Posted April 26, 2015 The switch is brand new. I turned in In by hand. Maybe It needs to go in more
rmaynard 14,925 #7 Posted April 26, 2015 Also take a look at where the fuel pump vacuum hose connects to the block. My P216 was leaking there as well.
OhioGuy89 4 #8 Posted April 26, 2015 It might be the bottom bolt on the filter housing. I can never torque it down properly because of its design
OhioGuy89 4 #9 Posted April 26, 2015 Here's the example of my old housing. That bottom hole is for the bottom bolt. You can't get a clear shot to,tighten it because of its design.
boomers_influence 106 #10 Posted April 26, 2015 matt also be sure that the two bolts have brass washers on them. also use thread sealer on them. i think the switch needs a little more than hand tight. most pipe has a taper thread, so they will tighten up fast. thank you boomer
