Kohler K91t rebuild dilemma

Recommended Posts

motor12

I have a K91t that is missing the ID tag so I don't have the spec number to order parts. the flywheel has broken fan blades and the recoil is missing. It has compression and all the tin is in good shape. It still has carb with air cleaner elbow and all the air cooling fins are in good shape. Is this engine a good candidate for a rebuild or not.

If not right away at least, they don't take up much room lined up on a shelf!

It depends what you want to use it on.  Wheel Horse used the K91 on 2 horses (that I see)...1960 / 400 Suburban used K91-31388A...1961 / 401 used K91-41437A.  :)

It sounds like a good candidate for a refresh to me... keep in mind that the "spec" number did not always mean that there was a physical diference between K90's and K91's... most parts will swip swap between spec numbers.
