Shuboxlover 481 #1 Posted April 21, 2015 Never had a short frame tractor, do you hook a snow blower up the same as a long frame? Do you still need the lift flag and rod? Is the rod a different length? Thanks

What is the width of that one and is that a serial number decal I see in the 2nd picture? Might be able to identify it with that. Garry
Shuboxlover 481 #6 Posted April 21, 2015 It is a homemade edger....pretty slick actually! Here is the serial number...

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,509 #8 Posted April 21, 2015 A-63667 is a 1964 serial number. Have recorded A-63362 which is a 1964 ST-324 (32") A-63667 is yours A-63924 which is a 1964 ST-374 (37") - sold for the 953 and 1054 The only other snowthrower in 1964 is the STR-324 (32") for the lawn rangers. Shuboxlover 481 #9 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) So would this thrower fit an 877? How about the blade? Edited April 21, 2015 by Shuboxlover
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,509 #10 Posted April 21, 2015 So would this thrower fit an 877? How about the blade? I don't know if it will fit. The 877 calls for model ST-326 (1966-67) which replaced the ST-325 (1965) which replaced the ST-324 you have if it is 32". The 1966-67 ST-326 would fit a 1964 tractor but don't know about the other way around. You will have to compare the parts lists which we do have for all of them. Need to do some digging on the blade to try and identify it. Garry
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,509 #11 Posted April 21, 2015 That blade uses rear axle hangers that mount ahead of the axle housing instead of under it. Run the tractor over it with the rear crossbar about 1" ahead of the axle housing. If the lift tab ends up under the tractor lift bellcrank it should be correct. Before you do that measure from the center of the rear crossbar to the center of the front blade pivot bolt and tell us what it is. Will add it to the manuals because I have no idea how long the short A-frames are. The 877 calls for the BD-4267 blade and we have that manual. Garry
Shuboxlover 481 #12 Posted April 22, 2015 I just measured the blower....outside edge to outside edge without the wings is 30" Does this make sense??? As far as the measurement for the blade, from the center of the rear mount bar to the center of the pivot bolt is 55 1/4"
Shuboxlover 481 #13 Posted April 22, 2015 As I look at the OM/IPL for each blower (STR-324 and ST-326) It appears that the 324 uses a straight mounting arm and the 326 uses a "bent" mounting arm. The blower I have has the "bent" mounting arm so would this make it a ST-32 for the 877? How accurate are the pictures in the manuals? The actual picture of the 324 shows a straight mounting arm while the illustrated parts list looks the same as the 326. I'm still confused, and would LOVE it if someone that has one of these blowers chime in!
