Mid 60's rear discharge decks gauge wheels - what size?

Recommended Posts

RedRanger

I'm restoring both a RM367 rear discharge deck for my 867 as well as a smaller RM-116 32 inch rear discharge deck for our lawn ranger.  Both came to me with small 4 inch guide wheels on the decks.  None of the wheels look to be original and all need to be replaced.  I can find the Toro part numbers for new ones, but no cross reference as to what size they should be.

Are these suppose to be 4 inch diameter or larger 6 inch?

I'm thinking a 6x1.75 would look and work better.

RM367 shows a 6749 part number

RM116 shows a 2877 part number

Thanks.

From my notes the 6749 wheel is 1-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" diameter - I don't recall the source of this. Toro wants about $62 each for this one.

The 2877 wheel has been replaced by Toro 110506 and is 1-3/4" wide x 6" diameter

Thanks Garry.

I see the stens heavy duty wheels on fleabay for about the same price as banta.  Is one brand better or different than the other?

I assume the heavy duty greasable wheels are worth the extra cost over cheaper sealed units?

Banta is a Stens dealer east of Toronto in Ontario. I believe Napa also sells the same wheels but forget who supplies them. Might be Prime Line.
