312'S AND TILLING

Recommended Posts

grinchsr

Is anyone using a 12 horse for their tilling? I am trying to find out if 12 horses is enough to do the job without too much strain. I used a bigger tractor last year but I want to put it on a 312 this year.

The 312 will do the job no problem. Just go slow.

I till with 8hp   This is a case where teh 8 spd tranny is better than hydros.  Put her in low low and till away.

I till with a C81, that 8 hp does just fine, but don't tell it it's only a 8hp, it thinks it's a 16 by the way it tills.

One of our members (jachady) runs a custom tilling business using I believe two C-125 tractors, seems to work just fine...
