Austin860 82 #1 Posted April 5, 2015 Got about 3 hours of seat time today on the electro 12! Pulled the thatcher great, got about 2 full trailers if dried up grass. I used about 10 pounds on it this time, plan on one more round with about 30 pounds . Thatch a little deeper. Sorry for no pics:/ what are your horses doing to get ready for spring? chex313 123 #4 Posted April 5, 2015 I'm shooting for end of May. Thats about the time my shady lawn needs it. Though if we have a lot of rain a few parts of it have to wait till June. Pics welcome I was going to ask when you were goin' to clean up that lawn! My turf is still wet, on the rock, the Horses would leave tracks in the lawn. I have been using a spring tooth rake on the lawn edges pulling some plowed up driveway stone and millings back on the drives where they belong! The Herd is ready to eat (and smell) fresh green grass and they WORK for a living! The Work Horse still has its' plow on, more driveway stone re-arranging may be in order. This week I dumped four more yards of stone just filling and leveling the drives. The Horses think movin' snow is fun. Ask the grandsons who ride 'em! Right now one grandson is packin' stone behind the barn. PS. 6.0 powerstroke: I'm goin' out to pick up some sod tomorrow to fix some plowin' damage. Wife from Montrose was birthed in Binghamton. bo dawg 517 #10 Posted April 6, 2015 I've had 2 of mine out so far with yard clean up and then pulled the big roller around for a few hrs Sat. Then put the dozer blade on and fixed my neighbors yard where the big truck that dropped and picked up a big trash dumpster for me back in the fall when I tore off a porch addition, got in their yard and rutted it pretty bad. I dozed it down and rolled it out then dropped some extra dirt and spread it out. Planted grass seed and rolled it out again. Man it was a blast, but looks pretty good for a rookie. Tankman 3,523 #11 Posted April 6, 2015 Been usin' the roller on the drives but, not the lawns.Muddy world here in Eastern PA. I did, without rolling, through some seed around. Around where I plowed off the drives....oh my! FYI. There's no such thing as a shady lawn. Seed early before the trees get leaves on 'em. The sun will help the new grass get a healthy start.
