squonk 43,769 #1 Posted March 29, 2015 Finally a decent day. Spent about an hour cleaning up dog muffins from the winter and cleared a path to get the RJ out of the shed so I can finish work on it. Couldn't resist putting a little Tru-Fuel in it and spinning it over. I didn't get the rope too hot like I used to on the Teckys! 4 or 5 pulls and it was running I have 6 Kohlers and 5 of them will only start with the throttle closed. Only the Sqonkfest 1267 wants the throttle open. Short video of up the street and back. Don't know if the neighborhood is ready for a Circus Bear on a Tricycle yet. Pardon the fat fingers in the beginning. I was so overwhelmed being able to "Horse Around" again I wasn't paying attention!

Sparky-(Admin) 23,143 #7 Posted March 29, 2015 Very nice...looks like a great time! I would love to drive any of my Wheel Horse's (except the one I plowed with all winter...sick of driving that one!) but the yard is so wet and soggy that I cant get em from the shed to the street. Mike........

Brrly1 1,146 #12 Posted March 30, 2015 Looks like the Gas cap fits fine, No leaks. You need a helmet cam, better yet a Hard hat cam!!!!
cleat 7,252 #13 Posted March 30, 2015 I hope to see grass in my yard some day. Still almost a foot of snow remaining. The ground under it is soft though so I think it will melt fast whenever it finally warms up. Cleat
Lane Ranger 11,395 #15 Posted March 31, 2015 Mike: I pulled my RJ out of the garage today and wanted to see if it would start after sitting all winter in the garage! It was a nice blue sky/sunshine and 59 degree high day in Greencastle, Indiana. The old 1958 Wheel Horse RJ started on the second pull of the recoil on the 4 HP Kohler motor!
squonk 43,769 #16 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Yup. no overheating of the recoil ropes on the Kohlers! Hey is that a chrome gas cap? Edited March 31, 2015 by squonk
Lane Ranger 11,395 #17 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Yes Mike a guy on Ebay sells them for about $12.00 I bought one for each of my RJ's. Rupp go cart and mini-bike owners use them. Edited April 1, 2015 by Lane Ranger
