Does this need repair?

Picked up this plow today in preparation for Saturday. This hitch mount is bent a bit. Can I still use it? Should I? I won't have a chance to try and fix it before Saturday and I really want to plow.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

From my understanding that is the way they were made so it is off to one side. At least that is what I was told on one of the older plows I have. I could be wrong.

i don't think it should be like that, but i think it will work after some adjustment

The plow mount is supposed to be off set but that is bent. It won't track right.

Some heat from an acetylene torch and a vice can straighten that out and you're back in business.

The part with the three holes is supposed to have a twist in it so when the tractor is in the furrow the plow is level.

If you look closely at the top and bottom photo, the twist is there. It only needs to be straightened lengthwise.

As oldredrider says the twist should be there bend no. It needs to be straightened.

Some of the bend could be compensated for by uneven tightening of the 1/2" anti sway bolts in the hitch.   But this bend is too much and should be straightened.

The twist in the plow tongue is to compensate for the tractor not being level when the right wheels are riding in the open furrow.

"food" straight? Meant good straight. Dang small keys on phone.

Thanks folks for the pics. I have an appointment with a friend with a torch tomorrow. Hopefully I will be posting pics sunday of my newly plowed garden.

The slight twist is 15* if I remember correctly.

I may be wrong on this.
